Karnataka Athletic Association is the official body for running and managing athletics in Karnataka and is affiliated to the Athletics Federation of India. The association organizes the State Championship and trains the athletes for Various National Competitions held across India by AFI. KAA selects the State Athletics Teams for various national competitions and conducts the State Championships for various age categories. It has conducted various national level championship,

Besides, the KAA conducts State championships and various meets to promote the sport and popularize it among the people and make athletics commercially attractive for the further growth of the athlete and the sport. The Association also supervises and assists its district units in their activities, plans and sets up special coaching camps and takes initiatives for development programme and grass root promotion of athletics in Karnataka
