Karnataka Athletics Association started in the year 1951 in the name of Mysore State Amateur Athletics Association under the Presidentship of Mr.Chandy, IPS, First Police Commissioner of Bangalore City as President and Mr. A.R.Chickapapaiah as Hon. Secretary.
In 1954 the State Association name was changed as KARNATAKA ATHLETICS ASSOCIATION as per the new name of the state. The Association registered under Registrar of Societies vide Reg.No: 514/74-75.
